ALEXANDRA RIDEL CERAMIC
Forms of Breath
I work with clay as I inhabit my body: seeking the right tension, a held openness, and the circulation of breath within an inner space. Most of the time, the balance holds — and sometimes, it cracks. In the material, I look for the same thing: a volume that breathes, a structure that stands, an envelope that opens without breaking. My pieces are sensitive architectures, approached like a yoga posture: with rootedness, presence, and balance.
